The Brantford Montessori House of Children offers three different programs for your children; Toddler, Casa (Pre-school) and Lower Elementary. Each program is specially designed for each student’s personal stage of development. Through hands on experience, each child develops skills and awareness at his or her own pace. He or she progresses through an ordered series of learning activities presented in Montessori didactic materials that cover all aspects of the educational curriculum as well as practical life skills.
Each program builds off the last to ensure detailed and supported education that encourages both interpersonal and intra-personal development. We believe that to be an effective educational institution, students should be motivated by their basic love of learning.
School year programs operate from the first Tuesday in September through to the end of June. We also offer summer programs from the second week in July through to the third week in August.
All programs include extra-curricular instruction in French, Music, Swimming, Physical Education and Computer Skills.
Our toddler program encourages your child and their 9-11 peers to explore in a language-rich environment for a year and a half. Every student experiences new personal opportunities and self-development.
LOWER ELEMENTARY PROGRAM
This program is a detailed expansion of the Casa Curriculum. This program largely reflects a research style of learning as children work in small groups on a variety of projects.
Students in the Casa program learn French during circle time. They are introduced to numbers, letters and some day to day phrases. For example how to introduce themselves, how to ask about the weather and so on.More
The instructor helps the children (Casa Studies) to become familiar with computers showing how they start it, use the mouse and operate games that relate to what they are learning in the classroom, investing their school time in the right way.More
The school arranges field trips that relate to the themes of learning including visits to the museum, local farms, the zoo, local fire hall and other sites to show the children what they learn in the classroom. The parent can attend these trips also. Usually the transportation is by school bus.More
